You Are What You Eat

I love helping people! That’s why I love working as a Physical Therapist Aide at Back in Motion Physical Therapy.

I have also seen how physical therapy and nutrition goes hand in hand. You see people come in with aches and pains and we teach them through exercise how they can improve their quality of life. Food also has that same power to help you feel your best.

Bottom line…the better you eat, the better you feel.

I have a couple dietary issues myself so learning how to deal with those and experiencing how much nutrition played a role in making me feel better made me want to pursue studying to be a nutritionist.

The biggest thing for me was just paying attention to what I ate and how it made me feel. Things that I didn’t feel so great after eating I tried to limit.

Try these simple steps:

  • Doing a food log or diary is a great way to start. Writing down what you ate, how much, and how it made you feel after.
  • Elimination diets can be good as long as you are not going to the extreme. You don’t want to eliminate everything and only be drinking water. Just pick and choose what you would like to eliminate first.

Once you start to limit or avoid food(s) that made you feel sluggish or sick you may start noticing positive changes like improved energy, digestion, sleeping, and mood. That’s the power that food has on us! Everyone is different, but once you find what your body likes best…embrace it and enjoy.
